C.W. and Mary Davenport purchased the farm in 1961 and planted peaches and apples. Their grandson, Greg Shipe, eventually took over operations. Grapes were planted in 1990 because Greg’s wife, Charlee Glinka, thought “they looked so pretty.” The vineyard is now home to 13 varieties of grapes growing in the 24 acre vineyard alongside 5 acres of apples.
